Frequently asked questions

Does the timer keep running if I close the tab?

The running timer is saved with its start time, so reopening the page resumes it with the correct elapsed time. It does not need the tab to stay open, but the machine must not be shut down mid-entry.

How is overtime calculated?

Anything beyond the daily threshold you set, eight hours by default, is counted as overtime and charged at the overtime multiplier. Weekend hours can optionally be treated as overtime in full.

Can I bill different projects at different rates?

Yes. Each project has its own hourly rate, and non-billable work can be marked so that it appears in the hours total but not in the amount.

Is rounding applied?

You choose: exact minutes, or rounded up to the nearest 6, 15 or 30 minutes, which is what most professional-services contracts specify. The rounding rule used is stated on the exported timesheet.

Where is my data kept?

It is saved in this browser and synced to your account on the CRMTECH server, so it is restored on any device you sign in from, with earlier versions kept. Export to CSV for your invoicing records.

Is Timesheet & Time Tracker free?

Yes. Timesheet & Time Tracker is free for everyone and needs no sign-up to use. An account is only needed to export, download or print, because every export is recorded.

Are my files uploaded to a server?

No. Timesheet & Time Tracker works inside your web browser, so the files you open are processed on your own device. If you sign in, the work you save (such as drafts and registers) is also kept in your account so it follows you to other devices.

Does it work on a phone?

Yes. It works in current versions of Chrome, Edge, Safari and Firefox on phones, tablets and computers, with nothing to install.
